U.S. Chamber calls on lawmakers to enact liability 'protections' for IoT makers in comments to NIST

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is expressing support for the National Institute of Standards and Technology's draft guidelines on “baseline” security for the emerging Internet of Things, while calling on Congress to enact legislation that would offer IoT makers “legal liability and regulatory protections.”

The business group's latest arguments on its vision for an IoT marketplace is laid out in comments submitted Monday to NIST on draft Internal Report 8259 on a “baseline” for “Securable IoT Devices.”
