U.S. Chamber advocates for legislation requiring independent regulatory agencies to be part of cyber harmonization effort

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is pushing for upcoming legislation from Senate Homeland Security Chairman Gary Peters (D-MI) to create a White House-level body that would be responsible for convening federal stakeholders, including independent regulatory agencies, to work on harmonizing cyber requirements across the government.

The idea is to have “a White House council/committee with the express purpose of convening the relevant agencies that have regulatory oversight in cyber, either critical infrastructure or federal contractors,” the Chamber’s Vincent Voci told...
