TSA identifies minimizing regulatory conflict as priority for upcoming cyber rulemaking targeted at pipeline, rail operators
The Transportation Security Administration is prioritizing regulatory harmonization and deconfliction in its approach to develop a notice of proposed rulemaking for pipeline and rail operator cybersecurity, according to an agency official.
One of the agency’s takeaways from stakeholder feedback on the November 2022 advanced notice of proposed rulemaking was a “strong urging from industry not to put something into a regulation that’s going to cause conflict with an existing regulation,” a TSA official told Inside Cybersecurity.
