TSA chief Pekoske emphasizes collaborative process to update cyber directives as important to rulemaking

TSA Administrator David Pekoske says building relationships with industry will help the agency translate its security directives for surface transportation through the formal rulemaking process in a manner where there are few surprises with the end result.

The Transportation Security Administration moved quickly following the Colonial Pipeline attack to issue a security directive for pipeline operators and updated it in July to reflect input from the sector, adding in flexibility for compliance.
