Treasury seeks comment on new cyber vulnerability reporting by financial institutions

The Treasury Department is seeking public comment on a proposal to request information from financial institutions about cybersecurity vulnerabilities based on the interdependencies with other critical infrastructure such as the energy and communications sectors.

Treasury's “Office of Cybersecurity and Critical Infrastructure Protection (OCCIP) has proposed a new collection to better understand the cybersecurity risk to U.S. financial services sector and financial services critical infrastructure,” according to a Federal Register notice issued Wednesday.
