Top Treasury official says upcoming regulatory report hits on data breach, other cyber topics

NEW YORK CITY. Craig Phillips, counselor to Treasury Secretary Mnuchin, says an upcoming report on aspects of financial sector regulatory reforms will address cyber issues like consumer data breaches amid its larger focus on financial technology and innovation issues.

The report – the fourth and final one in a series on the financial sector’s regulatory structure mandated by a Trump executive order -- will be “out soon,” Phillips said Thursday at the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association’s “FinTech” conference...
