Telecom industry applauds FCC decision to reinstate pre-net neutrality data rules

The telecommunications industry is applauding the Federal Communications Commission’s decision to reinstate the privacy and security requirements in place prior to the recently suspended Obama-era rules adopted under the net-neutrality order.

But not everyone thinks the move is a good idea, with the FCC's sole Democratic member, Mignon Clyburn, warning that it gives broadband providers a “hall pass” to avoid protecting consumer data.
