Tech think tank calls for FTC oversight of connected car cybersecurity

The Information Technology Innovation Foundation, a technology-focused think tank, in a new report says the Federal Trade Commission should provide oversight of cybersecurity in connected automobiles -- with enforcement authority over automakers’ cybersecurity claims -- while the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration could offer “testing mechanisms” to assess those claims.
