Tech industry leader details concerns over FTC ‘commercial surveillance’ proposal, urges action on federal privacy law

The Information Technology Industry Council says a Federal Trade Commission consumer privacy proposal to limit “commercial surveillance” overlooks benefits of “data-driven technologies” and that key privacy issues should be addressed through legislation.
