Tech and software groups weigh in on SEC cyber proposal, urge commission to take a step back

Major technology and software groups are raising concerns over the SEC’s proposed cyber incident reporting and risk management rules, and are seeking a substantial overhaul and pause before implementing a new regulatory approach.

The Information Technology Industry Council and BSA-The Software Alliance in separate comments asked the SEC to take a step back and retool its approach to cybersecurity for publicly traded companies.
