Tech and other business groups urge U.S., EU to forge ‘Privacy Shield’ successor

A coalition of 17 international business groups is calling on the U.S. and European Union to promptly negotiate an agreement to replace the “Privacy Shield,” which was invalidated by the EU Court of Justice on July 16.

“We urge policymakers and government stakeholders on both sides of the Atlantic to begin immediate negotiations on a successor agreement that provides a solid legal framework to avoid trade disruptions to EU-U.S. data flows,” the groups led by the Information Technology Industry Council...
