T-Mobile commits to zero trust modernization under FCC settlement addressing cyber incidents

T-Mobile has agreed to a $15.75 million settlement with the Federal Communications Commission to address multiple cyber incidents that involved the company, along with commitments to improving its internal cyber defenses including implementing zero trust.

“To settle the investigations, T-Mobile has agreed to important forward-looking commitments to address foundational security flaws, work to improve cyber hygiene, and adopt robust modern architectures, like zero trust and phishing-resistant multi-factor authentication,” the FCC says in a Monday release on T-Mobile consent decree....
