Solarium report sees space for regulation, but strongly embraces innovation, collaboration as keys to cybersecurity

Standards and certification, plus clarity on liability for security flaws in software, are among the more potentially compulsory approaches to industry cybersecurity proposed in the Cyberspace Solarium Commission's much anticipated report, released today.

According to the “chairmen's letter” prefacing the report, “deterrence will require private-sector entities to step up and strengthen their security posture.
