Senators unveil much-anticipated data breach bill as committee sets deadline for Facebook response

Senators Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) and John Kennedy (R-LA) have introduced legislation aimed at improving the data privacy and security of “online platforms” on the same day the Senate Commerce Committee set a deadline for Facebook to provide regulatory proposals following a hearing earlier this month with CEO Mark Zuckerberg.
