Senators offer bipartisan plan for 5G calling for presidential strategy, role for FCC

A bipartisan group of senior senators has introduced legislation requiring the president to draft a strategy for securing next generation – 5G – networks that includes significant input from the Federal Communications Commission and addresses such hot-button issues as equipment testing which would get beyond targeting foreign suppliers based in China or other nation-state adversaries, among other measures.
