Senators introduce bipartisan bill to bolster election cybersecurity

A bipartisan group of senators on Thursday introduced legislation designed to bolster defenses against cyber attacks aimed at U.S. elections.

The Secure Elections Bill, sponsored by Sens. James Lankford (R-OK), Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) and Kamala Harris (D-CA), has been referred to the Senate Rules Committee. Sens. Susan Collins (R-ME), Martin Heinrich (D-NM) and Lindsey Graham (R-SC) are also co-sponsors.
