Senators hear positive review of cyber bill to facilitate federal assistance to electric utilities

Energy-sector regulators are offering praise for a bill advancing through Congress that would set up a voluntary program to help electric utilities improve their plans and practices for physical and cyber security.

“S. 2095 will continue a long and successful history of working with states as a reliable partner on the nation’s most significant energy challenges,” said Mark Menezes, the Department of Energy under secretary who is a principal advisor on existing and emerging energy technology policy.
