Senate Democrats blast FCC Chairman Pai's plan for repealing internet data rules

A group of Senate Democrats, including Minority Leader Charles Schumer (NY), is attacking a regulatory proposal by Federal Communications Commission Chairman Ajit Pai to repeal an Obama-era order on ensuring open access to the internet -- which prompted landmark privacy and cybersecurity requirements -- arguing the move would rekindle long-settled legal issues related to protecting consumer data.

“The D.C. Circuit upheld the rule in its 2016 decision,” the senators write to Pai, a Republican, in a letter sent Tuesday....
