Senate COVID package includes money for CISA, IT modernization fund that was dropped in House

Senate Democrats, amid urgent pleas from business and technology groups, have included cybersecurity and technology modernization funding in their version of the “American Rescue Act” COVID-19 relief package expected to reach the floor this week.

The draft of the Senate bill contains $650 million for the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, $1 billion for the Technology Modernization Fund managed by the General Services Administration, and $200 million for the U.S. Digital Service housed within the Executive Office of the President....
