Senate confirms Rosenworcel as Federal Communications Commission chairwoman

The Senate voted today to confirm Jessica Rosenworcel as the chairwoman of the Federal Communications Commission, formally moving the long-time commissioner into a leadership role at the agency where she is expected continue efforts to secure telecom networks and potentially bring controversial net neutrality rules back into the spotlight.

Rosenworcel has served as chairwoman in acting capacity since January 2021 and during that time has officially kicked off the FCC’s Huawei rip-and-replace program for rural telecoms.
