Senate Commerce Republicans release bill on consumer data protections

A new bill by Senate Commerce Committee Republicans -- to be discussed at a hearing this week -- aims to bolster citizens’ control of their own data, setting uniform protections to be enforced by the Federal Trade Commission and state attorneys general.
