Senate Commerce Committee advances bill to expand Huawei rip-and-replace program eligibility

The Senate Commerce Committee passed legislation Wednesday widening the number of telecom companies that will have access to FCC funding for the rip and replacement of Huawei and ZTE equipment from their networks.

The advancement of the legislation comes as the FCC is moving forward with its own rulemaking to determine what equipment will be eligible for reimbursement.
