Senate Commerce Chair Wicker suggests data-breach issues should stay out of privacy bill

The new chairman of the Senate Commerce Committee is hoping to shepherd a privacy bill to President Trump's desk -- but he believes that the effort could be disturbed by moves to include data-breach issues in the legislation.

“With regard to privacy, there are members of the Senate that have more comprehensive bills that deal with data breach and things like that, which we might not want to entertain in a data privacy deal,” Sen. Roger Wicker (R-MS) told reporters...
