Sen. Thune's privacy hearing to feature internet providers, big tech firms as groups unveil principles

Industry witnesses supporting a flexible approach to data security under the rubric of digital privacy will testify at a hearing of the Senate Commerce Committee later this month, which Chairman John Thune (R-SD) has said will inform his efforts to craft national privacy legislation.
