Sen. Peters stresses assistance to ransomware victims, flexible approach to cyber requirements

Senate Homeland Security Chairman Gary Peters (D-MI) says his priority is helping companies understand there are alternatives to making ransomware payments, rather than banning such payouts to cyber attackers, while stressing that he is still most interested in a collaborative rather than compulsory approach to industry on cybersecurity.
