Security officials brief House Oversight panel on election security; next congressional steps unclear

The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee held a classified briefing Thursday to discuss election security issues with senior security and intelligence officials, with Chairman Trey Gowdy (R-SC) emphasizing the persistence of threats from “hostile foreign actors,” but not commenting on what next steps Congress should take.
