SEC charges four companies impacted by 2020 SolarWinds hack with misleading investors

The Securities and Exchange Commission is taking action against four companies that allegedly misled investors over the impact of cyber incidents caused by the supply chain compromise of SolarWinds’ Orion Software in 2020.

The four companies -- Unisys, Avaya, Check Point and Mimecast -- have agreed to pay civil penalties for “making materially misleading disclosures regarding cybersecurity risks and intrusions,” the SEC says in a Tuesday release.
