Science Chairman Smith examining policy fallout from Kaspersky affair

House Science Chairman Lamar Smith (R-TX) -- who is seeking a detailed account of ongoing efforts to remove Kaspersky Lab cybersecurity products from federal systems -- believes his oversight will help ensure that suspect software is actually eliminated from government computers and also provide important guidance for future cyber policy development, according to an aide.
