RSA panelists expect Trump to follow Obama lead on regulating cybersecurity

Speakers at last week's RSA Conference in San Francisco said they expect President Trump's administration to take a modest approach to regulating cybersecurity, falling in line with the government-industry collaborative process pursued by former President Obama.

Stewart Baker, a partner at Steptoe and Johnson and the Department of Homeland Security's first assistant secretary for policy, said during an RSA panel Friday that “we will likely be where we were under Obama” with a little bit of regulation of cybersecurity.
