R.I. Gov. Raimondo picked for Commerce chief, would manage extensive cybersecurity portfolio

President-elect Biden has selected Rhode Island Gov. Gina Raimondo to serve as Commerce secretary, tapping a former venture capitalist to lead a department at the center of U.S. government collaboration with industry on cybersecurity policy including supply-chain security and addressing challenges from China.
