Report: Growing wave of phishing attacks targets banking customers

The security firm NormShield found a double-digit rise in phony “phishing” domains targeting customers of large banks, a trend the financial services industry says it is countering thorough enhanced security and education efforts.

In a study of 50 major global financial institutions, NormShield found a 14 percent rise so far in 2019 of “potential phishing domains” aimed at bank customers, with 1,900 such domains registered through June.
