Proposed update to FERC reliability standards designed to help detect cyber intruders

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission has proposed a new “internal network security monitoring” requirement for certain bulk-power systems, citing the SolarWinds episode in which attackers were able to infiltrate and reside undetected for an extended period on federal and industry networks.
