Proponents dispel idea that artificial intelligence tools are in conflict with data minimization

Reacting to the latest high-profile breach, policy makers are highlighting data minimization for ensuring consumer privacy and data security, and while the practice is often weighed against potential benefits of data-hungry artificial intelligence technology, AI professionals say the description of such a tradeoff presents a false choice and note existing practices -- and a role for government -- in protecting consumers.
