Presidential advisory panel calls for new cyber commission on critical infrastructure

A key advisory panel to the president on infrastructure security issues will vote next week on a report calling for creation of a new federal cybersecurity commission focused on critical infrastructure and other steps to improve info-sharing and supply-chain security.

The President's National Infrastructure Advisory Council meets next Thursday and will consider a draft report on “Transforming the U.S. Cyber Threat Partnership.” Senior executives from the financial, energy and other sectors serve on the council.
