Pentagon explores barriers to Chinese product ban; still waiting on Commerce rules

The Pentagon wants to know what problems U.S. industry may face under a regulation banning Chinese telecom equipment and the Defense Department is also moving ahead on more comprehensive supply-chain security rules, while the Commerce Department's information and communications technology security regulations are still pending. 

The Defense Department will meet in early March with industry officials to discuss possible problems related to a ban on the use of China-based Huawei and ZTE products by federal contractors.
