Pentagon cyber assessment leader King departs agency responsible for auditing certification organizations

Darren King, who played a key role in starting Pentagon contractor cybersecurity assessments, has resigned from his job at the Defense Contract Management Agency to join the private sector.

King was director of DCMA’s Defense Industrial Base Cybersecurity Assessment Center, which is responsible for conducting assessments of certified third party assessment organizations who want to participate in DOD’s Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification program. Today is King’s last day at DCMA, according to an agency spokesman.
