Palo Alto’s Unit 42 reports on network threat trends, finds jump in exploitation of vulnerabilities

A report by the Palo Alto Networks Unit 42 research team urges organizations to adopt a “zero trust mindset” and take steps such as implementing patching policies, amid a rise in vulnerability exploitation by cyber threat actors.

Exploitation of vulnerabilities increased 55 percent in 2022 over the previous year, according to the new report released today, while there has been “a boom in traditional malware techniques taking advantage of interest in AI/ChatGPT.”
