OMB details increase in agency cyber incidents in fiscal 2023 FISMA report

The Office of Management and Budget provides an overview of cyber incident trends at the agency level and the latest details on implementation of the NIST cybersecurity framework, in a recent report containing high level findings from reporting under the Federal Information Security Modernization Act.

The report says, "Over the course of FY 2023, 32,211 incidents were reported by Federal agencies, which represents a 9.9 percent increase from the 29,319 incidents reported in FY 2022.” OMB identifies authorized users violating...
