Officials issue cyber advisory, impose sanctions targeting Iran’s ransomware activity

The United States and key allies have issued a cybersecurity advisory on Iranian backed ransomware activities and imposed new sanctions on that country, as part of an international and U.S. whole-of-government effort to spotlight and counter nation-state supported ransomware attacks.
