NSA and partners issue guidance on ‘synthetic media' highlighting security threats from deepfakes, generative AI

The National Security Agency and CISA have issued a joint alert on “synthetic media” explaining security risks from advanced artificial intelligence systems, including deepfakes and generative AI, and providing recommendations for the government and critical infrastructure owners on detection and identity authentication.
