NIST's new framework on analyzing 'Big Data' addresses security issues

The National Institute of Standards and Technology's “Big Data Interoperability Framework,” released Tuesday, employs both the agency's framework of cybersecurity standards and its privacy engineering and risk management guide as security underpinnings for the new guidance, according to NIST.

Volume four in the nine-volume package “references the NIST Cybersecurity Framework (Section 8.1) and NIST Privacy Engineering and Risk Management (NISTIR 8062) (Appendix B) as approaches that can be used to improve data security and enhance privacy of data applications,”...
