NIST updates guidance on implementing health sector info-security rules

The National Institute of Standards and Technology has published an updated guidance for healthcare cybersecurity, which aims to help covered entities protect patients’ information and comply the Security Rule of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act.

The document, Implementing the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Security Rule: A Cybersecurity Resource Guide, will be available for public comment through Sept. 21.
