NIST selects four ‘quantum-resistant cryptographic algorithms’ in key step for development of standard

The National Institute of Standards and Technology has capped a six-year competition by choosing four algorithms that will become part of a post-quantum computing standard slated to be released for comment in 2023 and finalized the following year.
