NIST seeks comment on updated guide to implementing ‘HIPAA’ health-sector security rule

The National Institute of Standards and Technology is seeking input on uses and possible improvements to its implementation guide for the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act security rule, a regulation administered by the Health and Human Services Department that has governed health-sector privacy and security practices for almost two decades.
