NIST seeks comment on new security guidelines for data storage infrastructure

A new NIST guidance document attempts to shine a light on data security storage infrastructure for organizations, which the agency says is often overlooked amid efforts to secure higher-profile hardware and network targets, and yet can be an avenue for equally devastating hacks.

NIST Special Publication 800-209, “Security Guidelines for Storage Infrastructure,” was released Tuesday and is open for comment until Aug. 31.
