NIST seeks comment on guide for implementing cyber framework manufacturing profile

The National Institute of Standards and Technology is accepting comment through July 8 on implementation guidance for the “manufacturing profile” it developed to help align industrial cybersecurity efforts with the NIST framework of cybersecurity standards.

The “Cybersecurity Framework Manufacturing Profile Low Security Level” draft guidance released Tuesday -- NISTIR 8183A -- includes three volumes: general implementation guidance; a “process-based manufacturing system use case;” and a “discrete-based manufacturing system use case.”
