NIST seeks comment on draft ransomware guidelines

The National Institute of Standards and Technology’s National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence has issued two draft “practice guides” for protecting against and responding to ransomware attacks, which are a major concern for both businesses and governments.

The draft guidelines, Special Publication 1800-25 and SP 1800-26, were developed with industry input on “solutions” for mitigating the risks and impacts of these types of attacks. Comments are due Feb. 26.
