NIST releases draft cyber framework profile for genomic data protection, after report identified national security concerns

The National Institute of Standards and Technology has released an initial draft of a cybersecurity framework profile for organizations working with genomic data, in response to a previous report identifying the security concerns associated with genomic data breaches.

NIST Internal Report 8467, “Cybersecurity Framework Profile for Genomic Data,” was released on June 15 and will remain open for public comment until July 17.
