NIST provides draft updates for Internet of Things onboarding project diving deeper into security implementations

The National Institute of Standards and Technology has updated two draft volumes from its Internet of Things onboarding project with details on safely managing trust and credentials for connecting IoT devices to networks.

“Trusted, scalable, and automatic mechanisms are needed to safely manage IoT devices throughout their lifecycles, beginning with secure ways to provision devices with their network credentials—a process known as trusted network-layer onboarding,” NIST says in a Tuesday bulletin.
