NIST plans September workshop to gather feedback on EO-mandated labeling pilots

The National Institute of Standards and Technology will hold a workshop in September to get input from the private sector and government agencies on how NIST should approach two cybersecurity labeling pilots mandated in President Biden’s cyber executive order.

The “two labeling initiatives” are focused on Internet of Things devices and “secure software development practices,” according to a NIST fact sheet outlining agency requirements under Section 4 of the EO, “Enhancing Software Supply Chain Security.”
